Children’s Story Books about Water

Project WET's the Rainstick A Fable

Children’s Story Books

Our individual stories define us and signal to others who we are beyond physical, social and economic characteristics. As they have for generations, stories entertain us, but they also inform us.

Project WET believes in the power of the story to teach. Project WET has produced two children’s story books that have proven very popular with educators.

The Rainstick, A Fable includes factual information about rainsticks, how to build them, and a story that illustrates water is life. In addition, Spring Waters, Gathering Places, funded by Nestlé Waters North America, includes:

  • Five short stories about the use of springs through time by plants, animals and humans.
  • A section on the lore and science of these special places.

Distributed by Project WET, All the Way to the Ocean is an accurate, sensitive story empowering students to recognize pollution and take action to protect the ocean. This book has been much in demand by educators. It is available in Spanish and Mandarin.
