Free Drought Lesson Plan

Discovering Drought

Bad news about drought-like conditions across the United States has many educators scrambling to find ways to teach kids—especially younger ones—about the phenomenon. Recognizing this, we have created a free, downloadable lesson plan on drought, one that uses our popular Discovering Drought children's activity booklet and our free, online interactive resource, DiscoverWater.org. Specifically designed for grades three through six, the Project WET Discovering Drought Lesson Plan contains ideas that can be adapted for other levels as well. With detailed instructions and suggestions for extensions, evaluations and more, this free resource will allow you to talk and teach confidently about the complex issue of drought.
