Educate. Empower. Act. The mission of Project WET is to reach children, parents, educators and communities of the world with water education. We invite you to join us in educating children about the most precious resource on the planet — water.
Project WET's Latin America and the Caribbean Project Manager Julia Nelson recently conducted a series of workshops in El Salvador, in partnership with UN HABITAT and with local ministries of education and mayoral offices. Participants included more than 80 teachers and other educators as well as trainers in the districts of La Libertad and San Salvador. Julia led workshop participants through several activities from the newly completed LAC Educator Guide, Agua Saludable, Hábitos Saludables, Personas Saludables, which has been adapted specifically for Salvadorean audiences.

Educators learn to play "Don’t Pass it Along", which teaches about germ transmission.
Project WET and UN HABITAT distributed 1000 Educator Guides and 20,000 student booklets to workshop participants, who will in turn conduct additional workshops to train educators in their communities. The educators from La Libertad and San Salvador plan to document everything and get together again in the fall to share their experiences with Project WET.

The "Soap Story" game teaches participants about proper handwashing.
In addition to the training distribution, one box of books containing 10 educator guides and 200 student booklets was donated to the U.S. Peace Corps to reach teachers in other regions of El Salvador.
